CONNECT

Big Weekend for MS and HS Students

Middle School and High School students are invited to Big Weekend on February 17th-19th. Students from all over Edmond will grow closer to God while staying at host homes for the weekend. They will be performing various service projects around the community on Saturday afternoon. Register by February 12th at hhbc.com/big-weekend or with a blue/white envelope.

Big Weekend Check-In

Parents, don’t forget that Big Weekend Check-in will be on Wednesday, February 15th from 5:30-8 p.m. This is when you will find out where to take your student on the Friday of Big Weekend and also complete any missing information/payments. Check in will be in the Student area.

STOMP Art Classes

As a part of this year’s STOMP Musical, we are offering Art Classes for children K-5th grades. Classes will meet early on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons. Different projects will be offered at each session so your child can sign up for multiple classes. Registration is required. A detailed schedule was sent home last Wednesday night in STOMP and is available in the Children’s Information Center on the 2nd floor. Classes begin on February 15th.

Fabulous Fantastic Fun-Filled February in STOMP and PreSTOMP

February is a special month for our 3 year olds-5th graders. We have activities, special guests, teaching and dress-up nights. February 8th: Pajama Night, 15th: Count Your Blessings Night (wear something with a number on it), 22nd: Follow Your Leader (your leader will decide how your class will dress-up), and 29th: Things that Leap (Frogs, ballerinas, insects, cheerleaders, kangaroos, etc.) We will also be working on our Worship Musical. Come be part of the fun!

Singles Gathering

Senior Adult Dinner

Join us for February’s Senior Adult Dinner on Tuesday, February 14th at 6 p.m. in the Middle School room. Our special guests will be motivational speaker, Vern Holder, with music by Denise Bethke. The entree will be stew & cornbread. Bring your favorite side, salad, or a dessert and a friend. Come enjoy this wonderful evening of food, fun and fellowship!

Man-to-Man Mentoring

Singles Retreat

Henderson Hills is partnering with Quail Springs Baptist, Moore First Baptist, and Cameron Baptist for this year’s Singles Retreat. It will be at Falls Creek on March 9th and 10th. This retreat is for singles age 30 and over. Cost is $30. Register at hhbc.com/singles.

Spring Locker Room Books

New Locker Room books are available for the spring. Kindergarten through 5th grade kids can pick up books in the children’s area this weekend. The Locker Room is Children’s Ministry’s tool for encouraging very important spiritual disciplines including Scripture memory, bringing your Bible, and attending church.


SERVE

High School Mission Trip

During Spring Break, March 17th-23rd, we will lead a group of 9th-12th graders to Nashville, TN to work with The Axis Church, theaxischurch.org. Space is limited! Cost is $285 ($100 min. deposit). Sign up deadline is February 26th or when spaces are full. Register at hhbc.com/hsmt-2012 or with a blue/white envelope. Mandatory Training dates: February 26th, March 4th, & 11th.

ESL Volunteers Needed

English as a Second Language ministry needs more teachers. The classes are divided by gender and skill level. We are especially in need of male teachers, but we will gladly welcome anybody who would like to serve in this ministry. No teaching experience nor foreign language skills are required. Classes are Monday nights from 7-9 p.m.

Ministries of Jesus

Ministries of Jesus needs a volunteer for 3 hours per week to assist in transitioning patient charts to a new filing system. You would work with others on this task and training is provided. Familiarity with patient charts and filing would be advantageous, but is not required. Your willingness to serve would be such a blessing to MOJ!

Social Skills Volunteers Needed

Special Ministries is planning to begin a social group this summer for children with hidden neurological disorders like Autism and ADHD. We need volunteers to help in writing curriculum for and in structuring this group. Social interaction is key for helping kids and their parents. Saturday Night Choir

On Saturday, February 11th, our Saturday Night Choir will be leading us in Worship. We are excited to introduce the new format for Saturday nights. They will be singing once a month with rehearsal at 4:30 before the service that they lead. Please let us know if you would like to join us and be a part of leading worship next month.

Big Weekend is February 17th-19th and the Student Ministry is searching for host homes. Big Weekend is an annual student event featuring biblical teaching, worship, service projects, and fun. If you are interested in hosting a group of students in your home that weekend, contact Patty Barnes in the Student Ministry office.

The annual Wild Game Dinner will be Thursday, March 8th at 6 p.m. featuring Brad Clay from Final Descent Outdoors. Also, save the date for the Men’s Retreat at Jacob’s Ladder on April 20th and 21st. Johnny Moore from Harrison Bethel Baptist Church will be our guest speaker. Don’t miss either of these events and invite your friends!

If you are not currently connected with a Small Group at Henderson Hills, we strongly recommend getting involved in order to meet friends, learn about the Bible, and participate in helping others grow spiritually. We have many types of groups that meet at convenient times. Take a next step today:
1. Go to the Information Kiosk in the lobby.
2. Pick up a CONNECT booklet with a listing of adult Small Groups.
3. Ask if you need help or recommendations.

New Young Marrieds FLOCK
