English as a Second Language
ESL needs someone to interact with children during classes on Monday nights from 7 - 9 p.m. Volunteers are also needed to bring refreshments and snacks to class each week.
For our English classes we need people who are interested in tutoring the students during the week. Tutoring includes conversing with them in English and helping them with basic homework that was given to them during their Monday class.
We can always use volunteers to help out with yearly events and parties.
Want to Come to ESL?
If you want to learn English, our English as a Second Languages classes are just for you. We have a beginner, intermediate, and advanced class, depending on how well you already know English. The classes meet each Monday night from 7 - 9 p.m. in the High School Room. There is free childcare for those interested, and there are activities for all age groups. ESL is free of charge. Come and join us on Mondays!
If you live at Apple Village or Vista Lane, a shuttle from Henderson Hills will pick you up and take you to and from ESL each week.
