The College House provides an avenue of ministry to both the 1500 international students who study abroad at UCO each year and the American college students. At the College House, we minister to students in a variety of ways: Bible studies, prayer groups, meals, service to students, and evangelism. It's a place where non-Christian and Christian students can come and experience unconditional love and acceptance by other Christians.
Its exciting to regularly see students leading in ministry to other students, and the impact of simple friendship and sharing the love of Christ can have a far-reaching impact when these students return to their native countries.
College House History
The College House is the result of a vision by two different people and Gods amazing provision. Both envisioned a place near the UCO campus that could provide an avenue of ministry with a dual focus of ministry to international and American students. They dreamed of seeing God move in a radical way on the campus.
The Lord answered countless prayers by providing a house near the campus for this vision to become a realitya house where the College and International Ministry can come together to present the love of God to a watching, waiting world. God has given us a truly amazing opportunity to reach out to these students who are so far from home and to present the gospel message to them.
For more than 11 years, HHBC has owned a property near UCOs campus which we creatively call The House. By Gods grace in the last few years we had outgrown The House and it had become a challenge to host events. Each Sunday night at The House we provide a meal for international students and it got to the point where we were bursting at the seams. Thanks to generous church members and the help of VBS and PALS, about a year ago we started a construction project to expand the house to incorporate a large gathering area. While the immediate need was the large gathering area, we also chose to add bedrooms above it for future ministry. Again, by Gods grace The House is finished, and we have already filled those rooms.
232 E. Hurd (just west of the UCO campus).
Dinners for Students
Free dinners are provided at the College House twice a week.
Sunday evenings through the school year you might find students from five to ten different countries and three different continents fellowshipping together. Those Sundays, dinner is prepared and delivered by a Henderson Hills Adult Community Group, and served at 7:30 pm. Dinner is for International students and American students who want to fellowship with them.
Wednesday evenings through the school year, we host another free dinner for International and American students at 7:30 pm. We invite you to come early and stay for an evening of good food and conversation.
Students currently living in the ministry house may pay monthly rent electronically by clicking on the Make Payment button below.
