The senior adults - loosely categorized as anyone age 63 years and older - at Henderson Hills have a very vibrant and active ministry. As we enjoy the flexibility of reduced work hours or retirement, we have more time for Bible study, volunteer work, and to support each other in situations unique to this stage of life. Most of all, we have an enthusiastic love for Christ and believe we can be of service to Him, literally for all of our earthly years.
Weekend Community Groups
Weekend Community Groups are the foundation of our ministry to seniors, and each weekend we gather to study the Bible and fellowship with one another. God calls us to actively learn and grow throughout our entire lives, and weekend Community Groups are the perfect avenue for this.

Tuesday Night Dinner & Entertainment
The second Tuesday of each month we have Tuesday Evening Dinners, featuring a catered meal and entertainment in the HHBC Middle School Room. Entertainment varies, but past entertainment includes a local jazz band concert, comedy act, slideshow and information speaker, and other vocal and instrumental talent. Dinner begins at 6 pm with entertainment following.
The church provides our entrée and members bring side dishes, salads, and desserts. There is no charge, and guests are always welcome. Of course, guests are not expected to bring anything.
January 2018 Senior Adult Dinner
Tuesday, January 9th at 6:00 pm
in the HHBC Middle School Room.
We will have a mixer between the college kids and the senior adults.
All attendees should bring an item that has been important to them or their family over the years.
We will share what it is and why we treasure it. We hope the exercise will demonstrate the strength of family and the value of long relationships.
Chicken and Dumplings will be the entree.
Bring your favorite side dish, salad, or dessert and a friend!
This is the perfect age to become involved in a mentoring program, and we believe everyone has something to offer. Mature believers may be asked to help a younger believer deepen their personal walk with Christ. Sometimes a person who has gone through a particular medical crisis or disease is needed to offer mentoring to someone who is just now encountering the problem and struggling with it. Other times a mentor may be able to share skills learned on the job or in life.
Learn more about mentoring by contacting the mentoring coordinators listed below:
Periodically, the senior adults plan short trips and local activities. Some of our past outings include touring the Passage Bible exhibit, eating fried chicken at Ischens, attending movies, riding the river boats on the Bricktown canal, and more. These are fun activities with friends. Details will be announced as events are scheduled.
Senior Golf Fellowship
Senior Golf Fellowship group meets every Tuesday morning at alternating courses. Tee times vary based on the season of the year. For information contact Jim Roberts. 405.973.8058
Support & Encouragement
The Senior Adult Ministry strives to offer support to each other, as this life stage presents some unique issues and opportunities. Many of us are sandwiched between needy elderly parents and adult children struggling with careers or family. Some of us are helping to raise grandchildren. Some of us are dealing with a spouse with a serious medical ailment. Some are grieving over the loss of a loved one and need someone to talk to. In all situations, God calls us as believers to be supportive and comforting to each other. Let us know if there are ways we can minister to you.
Many members of the senior group are actively involved in various service projects through their roles as deacons or with other church ministries. In addition, activities include serving a meal at the College House, providing paper goods for the College House at Christmas time, and other projects as assistance is requested by the staff and elders.
