Like a pride is a group of lions, a crash is a group of rhinos. They are called a crash because of the potential they have when running together. Rhinos run at 30 miles an hour, although they can only see 30 feet in front of them. As Erwin McManus (2005) states in his book, The Barbarian Way, “Rhinos run forward full steam ahead without apprehension” (p. 137-138).

We believe a crash represents how God desires us to live our lives, relentlessly seeking after Him and His kingdom despite our inability to see what lies ahead. “The future is uncertain, but we need to move toward it with confidence…We need to stop being afraid of what we cannot see and do not know. We need to move forward full force because of what we do know” (McManus, 2005, p. 138).

As we seek to resemble a group of rhinos, a crash, moving forward with confidence and trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, our desire and prayer is that God would use and empower us be a part of touching lives for His Kingdom. “We may not be able to see what’s at 31 feet, but we don’t have to be blind to see what’s right in front of us. There’s a world that desperately needs God, a world filled with loneliness, hopelessness, and fear” (McManus, 2005, p. 139).
