The Accessibility Ministry at Henderson Hills is dedicated to removing barriers that inhibit individuals of all abilities from accessing the gospel, growing in their relationship with Christ, or fully participating in church activities. We strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone is loved unconditionally and is able to find a place of belonging as they experience spiritual growth in a church family.
Each Sunday, we offer a time of Bible study and praise. God's Word is taught in a way that is engaging, accessible, and tailored to meet each person's level of understanding, fostering both spiritual growth and a deeper connection with God in dedicated classrooms.

Kids & Students
Age-defined Community Groups with their peers.
A buddy can be provided if needed.
We have volunteer "buddies" to assist kids and students in their age appropriate Sunday morning classrooms with their peers. Buddies are volunteers who work one-on-one with kids and students to help them navigate peer Community Groups.
Prior to your first visit, please complete this form and someone from our staff will contact you to make a plan that works best for your child or student.
We have a classroom downstairs in the Hillside Kids wing, reserved for our sensory sensitive kids, who may not be able to remain with their peers for the duration of the Community Group classes.
Room HK-117 at 10:30 am on Sundays is a place for specific kids and their assigned one-on-one buddy to explore the Bible story and engage in other activities in a smaller, more sensory friendly setting.
Please complete this form prior to your first visit so we can help you determine the best environment for your child.
JOYFUL SOUND CHOIR
The Joyful Sound Choir welcomes teens and adults with special needs for a joyful time of singing, percussion, and worship every Wednesday (August-May) from 4:45-6 pm in the Green Room. Beyond weekly gatherings, the choir leads worship at Henderson Hills twice a year and celebrates their talents with a year-end talent show. Led by Terri Johnson and Randy Lackey, the choir offers a fun, inclusive space to connect, worship, and share God's love through music. Prior to your first visit, please complete this form.
- Please walk choir members to the Green Room doors.
- When door drop-off is not possible, instruct members to go directly to the Green Room and remain there until dismissed.
- Choir members needing to leave the room should notify an adult volunteer.
- There's a waiting area for parents, caregivers, and guardians just outside the Green Room.
EVENTS
We also offer Wednesday night activities, a Joyful Sound Talent Show, Vacation Bible School for Kindergarten-5th grades, and an adult special needs Christmas party. We have formed a team for the Autism Oklahoma Walk and hope to plan more engagement activities and awareness participation in the future.
Autism Oklahoma Walk
Henderson Hills has formed a team for the Autism Oklahoma Walk which takes place on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This Walk is the largest autism event and the largest collective autism voice in Oklahoma. We want to come together as a church family by walking together at Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City. The event begins at 10 am. Even if you do not choose to walk, join our team and come out on June 7 to fellowship with other church members, connect to services, or learn more about autism. Click below and search for Henderson Hills under Teams to join the event.
Our goal is to ensure, to the best of our ability, the safety, and security of our church members, beginning with our youngest and most vulnerable ones. We take every precaution possible and adhere to a three-fold approach to safety:(1) worker training and screening, (2) on-site security personnel, and (3) secure child check-in system. Furthermore, classroom doors have windows so that activities are visible from the hallways and video monitors observe activities around entrances and hallways.
Recognizing and Reporting (RR) training is a mandatory qualification for every person working with children (birth through college) and adults with special needs at Henderson Hills.
Each volunteer leader and paid staff member must undergo a background check, interview, and reference check and complete a Recognizing and Reporting training session.
