Did you know that nearly 90% of international students never set foot in an American home during their time in the United States? The Christmas season is the perfect time to change that. With colleges closed during winter break, many students who can't return home are left here without access to campus resources, including food. What a beautiful opportunity for the church to step in and offer both hospitality and hope.
Imagine inviting an international student into your family's Christmas traditions: driving through neighborhoods to see lights, baking cookies together, building gingerbread houses, watching Christmas movies, or reading the story of Christ's birth. For students far from home, these simple moments create lasting memories and open doors for gospel conversations.
This is also a powerful opportunity for Family Discipleship. As you welcome someone new into your holiday rhythms, you're teaching your kids to make space for others, to think of others before themselves, and to see Christmas as more than receiving gifts-it's about sharing the love of Jesus.
By hosting, you're not just offering "a home away from home." You're showing the heart of Christ, who made room for us in His family.
