Our Role in a Culture War
When Jesus called us to be the salt of the earth and light of the world He was describing the qualities of true disciples. Salt and light are the essences of what it means to be a disciple (preserving, healing, illuminating, enlightening the world). These qualities are the very heart of what it means to follow Jesus. Our confused culture needs salt and light disciples who know what it is to become like Jesus - to serve others and to love our neighbors like ourselves. These four weeks will cover hard issues that need the illuminating quality of light and the healing qualities of salt.
February 15 - LGBTQ+ - Stephen Black, First Stone Ministries
February 22 - Race Relations - Panel
March 1 - Religious Freedom - Dr. Bruce Ashford
March 8 - Climate Change & Practical Application of Our Role in a Culture War - Phil Sallee
We will briefly discuss the issue of climate change from a biblical perspective. The bulk of our time, though, in light of all four topics we have addressed, will be spent encouraging a practical and biblical response to people who differ in perspective. As followers of Christ, we are to reflect Him in all things as we seek to be salt and light in this world.
