Next Steps

We are compelled by our desire to tell the generations about the Lord and His mighty deeds.

We desire to be a welcoming place where children have fun, feel safe, and loved. We strive to come alongside families in their efforts to point their children to Christ. We believe all scripture is inspired by God and able to equip for every good work. We desire to build trust to share God's Word, giving them the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Hillside Kids is available on Sundays at 8:30 & 10 am. Children in Kindergarten-5th grades may attend one session and attend worship with their families during the other session. (Birth-Pre-K children may attend one or more sessions). Kids three years old through 5th grade (during the school year) can also attend our Wednesday night program at 6:15 pm called G2, designed to be an extension of our weekend curriculum with a focus on discipleship (growth) and missions (go).

NEHEMIAH LEGO STRUCTURE CONTEST

January 31
In the HHBC Lobby
This is a display event only.

All Ages are welcome to enter!

Hillside Kids will be studying Nehemiah 3:1-6:16, where God used Nehemiah to lead his people to rebuild Jerusalem's walls. Hillside Kids are invited to create a Lego structure that will be entered in a contest and then displayed in the church lobby.

If your child would like to participate in the contest, use a 12" x 12" baseplate and begin building a structure based on one of the following categories: The Temple, any Old Testament Story, any New Testament Story. The contest will be divided into age categories, so all ages are welcome to participate! We'll be awarding prizes for our pre-built Lego Structure Contest.

If your child plans to participate, register HERE.

Safety and Security

Our goal is to ensure, to the best of our ability, the safety, and security of our church members, beginning with our youngest and most vulnerable ones. We take every precaution possible and adhere to a three-fold approach to safety:  (1) worker training and screening, (2) on-site security personnel, and (3) secure child check-in system.  Furthermore, classroom doors have windows so that activities are visible from the hallways and video monitors observe activities around entrances and hallways.

Reducing the Risk (RTR) training is a mandatory qualification for every person working with children (birth through 5th grade) and students (6th through college) at Henderson Hills.  It is also required of all Ministries of Jesus Ministry volunteers.

Early childhood classrooms are staffed with two people at all times and are regularly monitored by supervisory staff. Before working with children, each volunteer leader and paid staff member must undergo a background check, interview, and reference check and complete a 'Reducing the Risk' (RTR) training session.

RTR takes place on Wednesday Nights at 7:45 pm in Room HK-213

Upcoming RTR Training in 2021:
January 13, February 10, March 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, October 13, November 10, December 8.

Special Needs

We believe church should be a place where everyone feels safe and welcome. If your child has any special needs that may require extra attention, we are happy to help them participate in our ministry! We have special needs ministry classes during the 8:30 and 10 am services for children who may be overwhelmed by bigger classes, as well as volunteers who can help your child attend class with their peers.
