Precept, Acts Part 2 (continued from Fall 2018)

Join him on his journeys across the Roman world to proclaim the saving message of Jesus to Jews and Gentiles. Learn how to witness and how to live an authentic Christian life in all circumstances in the power of the Holy Spirit. Learn to be like Paul, to be bold in proclaiming the name of Jesus and to trust our sovereign Lord who enables us to endure persecution and suffering at the hands of those who hate Jesus...and therefore, hate us.

Claiming the Promise (The book of Joshua)
by Jody Hendley
With Moses dead, the people of God faced the overwhelming task of taking possession of the Promised Land God had said was already theirs! Through the Book of Joshua, see how modern-day Canaan threatens our faithfulness to God. Learn how God’s presence and power lead His people in victory over the culture’s persuasion to compromise and settle for less than His best.
Unlikely Joy (The Story of Job)
by Lisa Harper
Joy is the constant companion of the woman who trusts in the Lord. And while you can find it in friends, family, and circumstances, unfailing, persistent joy will only ever overflow from your relationship with Jesus. Just ask Job, the man from Uz who clung to God’s goodness while all his worldly joys were stripped away. But how is it possible to hold onto such joy in times of sorrow?
In this 7-session study, discover the redemptive facet of Job’s suffering. Learn to view pain as a way to strengthen your faith, point others to the gospel, and trust in the Lord. Because His providence will never take you to a place where His grace will not sustain you.
Precept, Romans Part 3

God doesn't go back on His promises. He can always be trusted. Romans 9 - 11 is an extended discussion of the subject of God's sovereignty - election, predestination, and responsibility - focusing on His choice of Israel and His faithfulness to His covenant.

The Power of Story
Do you ever find yourself wanting to share your faith with someone, but struggling with how to start the conversation? Is keeping the truths of Scripture on the tip of your tongue and ready to share a challenge?
This class on Bible storying will help you overcome these challenges and walk you through sharing clearly and effectively in your day to day life. You will grow personally as you grow in knowledge and understanding of the truth, and in strategies for sharing the stories of Scripture in natural conversations.
55% to 65% of the Holy Bible is written in narrative or story form. God has given His story to us in a way that we can easily share it! In this class, we will study and practice sharing stories together and in so doing, grow in confidence in making Jesus known.
Wednesday Evenings 6:15 - 7:30 pm
begins February 6, 2019
as part of Henderson Training Institute (HTI). Registration will open in January.
