Hillside Big Kids
As the childhood ministries of Henderson Hills Baptist Church, Hillside Big Kids seeks to be a part of strengthening families through a Christ-centered community. Throughout the year, we focus on training the next generation. Our community groups consist of age-appropriate Bible teaching, which includes hands-on activities and/or crafts, training in personal and corporate prayer, and large-group worship with drama, singing, and movement. Additionally, as appropriate, children have the opportunity to participate in camps, Vacation Bible School, and other events that help to cultivate relationships and further develop Christian character.
HILLSIDE KIDS 2019-2020
Each year, Hillside Kids creates an overarching theme to complement our Gospel Project curriculum. We use this theme to remind kids that every Bible story works together to point us to Christ Jesus. Even the Old Testament stories that happened before Jesus was born to point us to Him! They all come together to tell one story: the story of how Jesus rescues us from our sin.
Our curriculum goes through the Bible in three years. This year, we are going to finish the Bible! And if there is one theme that we are going to see over and over, it is that only God can make all things new.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come! 2 Cor. 5:17
On November 10th, Hillside Kids is going to transform the church gym into an Ancient Egyptian Marketplace. During their allotted time, kids will get to walk around the Marketplace and participate in activities that will teach them the story of Joseph through sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and touch. This will be a completely interactive experience where kids will even get to make things to take home with them. The only rules? No running and come to the middle when the horn blows. When the horn blows the kids will get to watch a drama that further shares the Gospel through the story of Joseph.

Weekend Community Groups
On weekends we offer community for our children through our small group and large group environments. The Gospel Project for Kids is the curriculum we use for both small groups and large groups. It follows a chronological timeline of Biblical events over a 3-year span to teach kids that the Bible is one story - God's story - of redemption through Jesus Christ. The kids learn how Christ fits into every part of God's big plan, pre-creation to eternity, and how they become a part of His plan too.
Hillside Kids is available on Sundays at 9 am, 10:45 am, 5 pm, and 6:15 pm.
Children in 2nd – 5th grades may attend one session and attend worship with their families during the other session time.
NOTE: For security reasons, Hillside Big Kids' Community Group locations are not posted on our website.
Guests must check-in at the Hillside Kids Information Desk.
