Hillside Little Kids
Welcome to the Hillside Little Kids! We minister to children age birth through Pre-K and their parents. Our Community Group classroom activities combine Bible stories, play time, and music to teach children about God the Creator and Jesus' love for them. Even the babies will hear simple Bible verses and truths repeated to them while they are in our care.
We take every precaution to provide a loving, safe environment for children. All teachers must complete the Reducing the Risk security/safety class and submit to a thorough background check prior to working with children. A duplicate tag check-in system is used to ensure that children are returned only to their parent or guardian.
In addition to the information you'll find below, please be sure to read about our Parent Commitment services and classes, Christian Learning Center, resources, and much more by clicking on the links at the right.
HILLSIDE KIDS 2019-2020
Each year, Hillside Kids creates an overarching theme to complement our Gospel Project curriculum. We use this theme to remind kids that every Bible story works together to point us to Christ Jesus. Even the Old Testament stories that happened before Jesus was born point us to Him! They all come together to tell one story: the story of how Jesus rescues us from our sin.
Our curriculum goes through the Bible in three years. This year, we are going to finish the Bible! And if there is one theme that we are going to see over and over, it is that only God can make all things new.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come! 2 Cor. 5:17
On November 10th, Hillside Kids is going to transform the church gym into an Ancient Egyptian Marketplace. During their allotted time, kids will get to walk around the Marketplace and participate in activities that will teach them the story of Joseph through sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and touch. This will be a completely interactive experience where kids will even get to make things to take home with them. The only rules? No running and come to the middle when the horn blows. When the horn blows the kids will get to watch a drama that further shares the Gospel through the story of Joseph.

Community Group Schedule & Curriculum
The Hillside Little Kids' curriculum provides age-appropriate learning, fun, and worship. During Community Group time children connect with each other and to Christ through biblical curriculum, activities, and crafts. We encourage children to respond to each other in ways that reflect Christ as they interact with each other in the classroom environment. Since parents are the primary faith trainers for their children, Community Groups further support the family by providing teaching resources, each week, that reinforce the weekly lesson and provide material for parents to use at home.
Children also participate in large group worship, as appropriate for their ages. This activity further deepens the connection with Christ and each other through the worship experience. Children participate in singing, dancing, movements, skits, group prayer, and Bible truths that supplement the lesson taught during their Community Group.
Hillside Little Kids' Community Groups are offered during two sessions on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings to coordinate with the times for adult worship and on-campus Community Groups.
Children whose parents attend both worship and adult Community Groups will participate in both sessions. While Session 1 and 2 lessons are not identical, they use a level of repetition to facilitate learning.
Children focus specifically on the curriculum lesson.
Children 2 years and younger remain in their assigned classroom.
Children 3 years and older participate in group worship through drama, teaching, and music.
NOTE: Children are accepted into their classrooms 15 minutes before each activity.
For security reasons, Hillside Little Kids' Community Groups are not posted on our website. Guests must check in at the Hillside Little Kids Information Desk.
Child Check-In Process
First-time visitors wanting to place children in classes or childcare should come to the Information Desk in the Hillside Little Kids' area. You will be asked to provide information to enable our staff and volunteers to safely care for your children. This information is confidential and is loaded into our check-in system for faster drop-offs during future visits. Subsequently, drop off of your children will take place in the appropriate classroom.
We use a duplicate tag check-in system to ensure that children are returned only to their parent(s) or guardian.
