As God continues to raise up and call individuals from our church to full-time service overseas, as well as everyone else to live sent for Christ's sake, it is important that we as a church train, empower, and equip them to fulfill the Great Commission.
In John 20:21, Jesus appears to his disciples after his resurrection and says, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so, I am sending you. Christ obeyed the Father and came as a sent one to the world. In so doing, he made a way for sinful humans to have true life and a relationship with God once more. What good news! The second part of the verse, however, says that disciples of Jesus are sent. No matter where you live or what you do, Jesus has commissioned you to live out and proclaim the gospel in your daily life. Do you feel inadequate to the task? Do you want to join a community of learners committed to living in obedience to Christs sending? The Live Sent class is just the place for you!
In an effort to continue loving our city well and expand our scope of connecting with our community, we are partnering with The 405 Center. The center partners with 100's of agencies and organizations in the '405' reaching a wide range of people, serving and making life changing impact around our community. We are excited to invite you to a training on Sunday, August 25th, where you will learn all about how you can join us in this partnership and impact our city, in new ways, for the sake of the gospel. In the training we will begin an exciting conversation around three big ideas: culture, context, and the gospel; relief and development; and gospel fluency. There will be time to do work together in groups and for Q & A. Lunch will be provided. We would love to see you there!
