To be a representative community within the larger church that serves to reach female students with the gospel of God, equip them as disciples of Christ and members of the church, and send them into the church and the world to make disciples.
To be a representative community within the larger church that intentionally lives life alongside one another, laying aside our own desires for the sake of loving God and His church (1 John 3:16, family/servant). To obediently confess sins to one another for the gift of bearing one anothers burdens and the hope of restoration in healing (James 5:16, servant/family). To foremost seek to display the glory of God in our lives and the lives of others (Rev. 5:9, 12:11, witness). To be a multiplying community that desires to make disciples who make disciples, building up the church with the purpose of sending out our own (1 Tim. 2:2, disciple).
In a desire to fully align with the overarching vision of the Student Ministry, our main focus will be more discipleship-driven than event-oriented. With this in mind, our main focus of time and energy will be on the female involvement, and ministry to female students, within the context of already established Student Ministry events. Some of these include:
Individual discipleship relationships and training for disciple-makers
Shepherding of female students within ministry events such as camps, retreats, etc.
A select few Girls Ministry Specific events throughout the year, including:
- Womens Conference: Girls Ministry will be partnering with Women's Ministry to promote/engage in the Womens Conference. This will be a time for student girls to gather together while being intentionally plugged into the lives of older women within the church. The desire for this event is to be a stepping stone to learn what it means to be a woman of the church.
- ChocoLatte Festival: This evening is intended to bring women of all generations together, give families shared time, allow girls to invite friends, and to simply have fun together! This event is a gift from the Senior class to the underclassmen, and an opportunity for the Senior girls to encourage those younger than them. Each participant is encouraged to bring a homemade chocolate dish to compete for the title of ChocoLatte Festival Queen! There will also be prizes for Best Presentation and Most Creative Dish. Each year the festival will have a mission highlight and an opportunity to give in support of that mission. Also, as a desired open event for friends, the gospel will clearly be shared throughout the evening.
- Kairos Retreat: This is a retreat for Senior girls only that occurs shortly before graduation. Kairos is a Greek word that means opportune time or moment. We believe that this time, right before leaving the Student Ministry, is just that, an opportune time. It is a time to intentionally prepare your heart and mind for the upcoming season of life. It is also a time to make the decision on how you will walk in your faith apart from the Student Ministry. The Kairos Retreat is a time for the leaders who have invested in our Senior girls to have one last, sweet time to speak into their lives. The retreat is purposed to encourage the girls in their next phase of life, give them practical wisdom for going to college/leaving high school, and emphasize the importance of the church after Student Ministry.
