First Visit

We don't want to overwhelm you with information, but we want you to feel comfortable and welcome on your first visit. So take a minute to look at the following information.

Where Do I Start?

An Information Desk is located in the center of the Lobby. Staff and volunteers are there to help you. Please be sure to stop by so we can get acquainted and welcome you to the Henderson Hills family.

Worship Services

We offer three Sunday worship services: 8:30, 10, & 11:30 am. All three are Livestreamed as well. Wednesday evening activities begin at 6:15 pm. If you have children and want them to attend pre-school or children's classes while you go to worship, it would be best to arrive at least 15 minutes early.  Please note: Some times and meetings are temporarily different due to the Coronavirus. Children & Students

Hillside Kids

Hillside Kids is a welcoming, safe, and fun place for your birth through 5th grader to come hear the truth of God’s Word through Bible stories, music, and time spent with friends and with leaders who love Jesus. All Hillside Kids activities are located in the secure children's wing of our main building. Once you enter the building, look for the signage that points you to the Hillside Kids Guest Check-in. There will be people there to greet you and help you find the age-appropriate classroom for your child. Our goal is to ensure, to the best of our ability, the safety and security of our church members, beginning with our youngest and most vulnerable ones. We take every precaution possible and adhere to a three-fold approach to safety:  (1) worker training and screening, (2) on-site security personnel, and (3) secure child check-in system. Furthermore, classroom doors have windows so that activities are clearly visible from the hallways and video monitors observe activities around entrances and hallways.

On Sunday mornings, we have Community Groups for Kids at 9 and 10:45 am. Children who have entered 2nd grade and up attend worship with family one hour and enjoy a Community Group at the other hour. You choose the hour. Sunday evenings, there are Community Groups for birth through 1st grade at 5 pm. Community Groups for Kids meet at 6:30 pm.

On Wednesday evenings, there is childcare for birth through 2-year-olds during the 6:15 service time. G2, our mid-week discipleship ministry for Kids is from 6:15 to 7:30 for 3’s through 5th graders.

If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Burkholder.

Student Ministry

Community Groups are our weekly gathering time for our students in grade specific small groups that are led by an adult leader. These groups meet during church service times, and offer a space for students to study Scripture together, pray together, and hopefully grow as a community that does life together.

High School students meet for Sunday morning Community Groups at 9 am and attend worship at 10:45. Sunday evening Community Groups meet at 6:30 following the evening service.

Middle School students meet for Sunday morning Community Groups at 10:45 am and attend worship at 9. Our Middle School Community Groups are grade and gender specific.  Sunday evening Community Groups meet at 6:30 following the evening service.

If you would like to visit a Middle School or High School Community Group, you can visit one of our Information Desks any time before service starts.

Chi Alpha and Refuge (Wednesday Student Worship)
On Wednesday evenings, the students gather together for a time of fellowship and worship geared specifically for them. Wednesday services are split into two spaces, Chi Alpha for the High School students (9th-12th grade) and Refuge for the Middle School students (6th-8th grade), meeting from 6:30-7:30 pm. However, we would love to have you join us any time after 5:30 pm to play games and hangout before the service begins! Refuge will meet in the Middle School Room and Chi Alpha in the High School Room. If you have questions or would like more information, you can visit our Information Kiosks in the Student Hallway before service and a volunteer will be ready and available to help!

Contact Patty Barnes for more information.

Adult Community Groups

Although we are a large church, our weekly small groups help bring a large church down to a more intimate size. We call these small groups Community Groups and that is truly where community is built.

Community Groups are purposed to uniquely equip people to live out the gospel in our community through service and worshipping and loving others as a community of believers that push each other to submit every aspect of our lives to the authority of scripture. Discipling adults to be fully committed followers of Christ who live and love with a passionate commitment to seeing God glorified in our community and our world is our highest ambition.

The makeup of our Community Groups varies greatly by age group, size, life stage, and topics. Given the variety offered, we encourage newcomers to visit several Community Groups and then select the one that seems most comfortable for them.

Community Groups meet Sunday mornings at 9 and 10:45 am, Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm, and throughout the week at various times in homes. Visit the Information Desk in the Lobby to find a group that's right for you, or you can find information about all the groups here.

The atmosphere is relaxed and casual attire is the norm for weekend services and most other events.

Please browse through the website to find more information about our different ministries, beliefs, history, serving opportunities, and much more. Our vision is to become a diverse family of surrendered and transformed people who passionately love God and others.
