February 16-18, 2024, HHBC Students will have the opportunity to learn more about standing firm in our faith. Big Weekend is a time of intense discipleship, fellowship, and relationship building. Students will gather together for worship, meals, lots of fun, and in small groups in homes of HHBC families for the weekend. The large group sessions will be held at Quail Springs Baptist Church. The rest of the weekend will be at HHBC, the host homes, and various locations for service projects.

The theme is: Bow. Stand. Reach. Standing firm in our faith despite wordly attacks. We bow before God. We stand before man. We reach the world.

Main Speaker: Erik Reed
Erik is the Founder and Lead Pastor of The Journey Church in Lebanon, Tennessee. The church reaches a diverse range of people and continues to grow in both numbers and ministry opportunities to make disciples of Jesus. Erik is an alum of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also founded Knowing Jesus Ministries, a non-profit organization that exists to proclaim timeless truths for everyday life. This ministry provides resources for Christians to grow in their daily walk with Jesus, withstand the onslaught of cultural pressures to conform, and prepare Christians for the suffering that comes in this life. Resources include books, daily devotions, articles, theology videos, conferences, and weekend respites for families who have lost children. He's been married to Katrina since 2002 and has three children: Kaleb (who went to be with the Lord on December 1st, 2019), Kaleigh Grace, and Kyra Piper.

Worship Band: Jared Wood
Jared is a worship leader and songwriter based out of Dallas, Texas. Jared's passion is that the worship of believers everywhere would be expressed not only by the songs they sing but also by how they live their lives. Mark 12:30 says, "Love the Lord your God with all of your heart with all of your soul with all of your mind and with all of your strength." Christ calls us to be a reflection of our God to the world in which we live. Because of that calling, we should all strive to live our lives in such a way that we sincerely worship and honor the Lord with every fiber of our being.
